I am a NASM
Certified Personal Trainer and hold an advanced NASM certification as a
Corrective Exercise Specialist. I also have an AA degree in Adapted
Fitness. I specialize in
functional fitness training
for adults with an emphasis on special populations. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, gain strength, improve
your sports performance or trying to walk without the aid of a walker – I can
help.

I've helped clients with MS, rheumatoid arthritis,
Parkinson's disease and traumatic brain injury. Many in wheel chairs. All have
substantially increased their strength, endurance, functionality and sense of
well-being. My gym is wheelchair accessible or I will come to you.

Functional Fitness vs. Traditional
exercise
If the bulk of your workout is on isolation type
resistance machines than you are setting yourself up for injury. These machines
were designed for body builders to make big muscles to look at. They do not
provide the proper exercise for all the stabilizing muscles that are vital to
real-life human movements. This frequently leads to muscle imbalance, postural
distortions and eventual injury such as tendonitis or chronic back pain.
Functional exercise teaches your body to move efficiently and develops true
balance, strength and power - and you will still look great. I can provide you a
fun, progressive workout program that you can use safely and effectively for a
lifetime.

Train here, at your place or on the
internet
Train in my San Mateo gym which feature everything
you need for a great workout. I have cardio equipment, weights, a
functional training machine and lots of toys! My gym is wheelchair accessible and
easy to get to.
